Council Lose Judicial Review Attempt Over Hospital Closures

Enfield Council has lost its attempt at a judicial review of the decision to close a hospital's maternity and A&E departments.

The north London council had argued that the closures at Chase Farm Hospital were unlawful, however a judge ruled that the council had "no arguable case for judicial review".

The hospital said the labour ward would shut in mid-November and the A&E unit would close on 9 December.
