Councillors Reject Proposed Beagle Breeding Facility

Councillors in East Riding have rejected plans for a beagle breeding facility, which would have supplied dogs for laboratory experiments.

The proposed unit, which would have been based in Grimston, had been recommended for approval, but councillors rejected the proposal.

According to reports the council received over 6,000 comments on the proposal, the majority of which are understood to have been against facility.

The company behind the planned facility, B & K Universal, had previously had a planning appeal, for a larger facility, rejected last year.
