Snow Forecast As Temperatures Plummet
Temperatures are set to plummet across the UK this week as icy winds move in from the Arctic.
The drop in temperatures could bring a chance of snow, it has been reported.
By Friday, the average temperature in England and Wales is expected to fall to just above freezing, with strong winds forecast for more coastal areas. Rain could then turn to snow as the colder air reaches the UK.
In Scotland, snow is also forecast to fall on higher ground.
In addition, a long-term forecast for the UK suggests temperatures could remain below average for much of the month.

Met Office Records Hottest Temperatures Since 2006
The Met Office has recorded the hottest temperatures since 2006 in England. Data taking today 1 July in parts of the southeast and central areas of the UK have seen temperatures rise over 30 degrees. Other regions have already experienced 34 degrees, with London expected to reach 35 or 36 degrees.

Heatwave warning as temperatures soar
The government has issued a heatwave warning as parts of England look set to bask in temperatures rising above 30C until Wednesday. The Met Office has raised the Heat-Health alert to Level 3, the first time this level has been reached since the service was started in 2004.

Freezing Temperatures Wreak Havoc
The Met Office has issued heavy snow and ice warnings for most of the eastern and central areas of Britain, with up to 15cm of snow expected in some areas. The news comes as freezing temperatures continue to cause major problems for rail and air passengers, while many roads across the UK are gridlocked.

Britain Experienced 'Coldest Winter For A Decade'
Mild weather is expected to see out what remains of winter, the Met Office has said. However, despite this, it is expected to be the coldest UK winter since 1995/96, the provisional Met figures has shown. The low temperatures have also been accompanied at times by heavy snow.

Artic blast expected over weekend
Artic winds, snow and strong winds are expected to hit Britain this weekend. Forecasters say that snow and sub-zero temperatures will replace the current warm weather on Sunday. Heavy snow showers are forecast on Sunday in Scotland and Northern Ireland, extending south to western parts of England and Wales on Monday morning.
