Two Assaulted After Fight Over Bag Of Chips
An argument over a bag of chips has led to two men being assaulted inside a Birmingham takeaway, police have said.
The attack happened inside Skipper's Dish Bar on Horsefair last month, but police have now released CCTV images of people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
It is understood the two men, both in their late teens, were on a night out at one of the city's nightclub when they chose to go to a nearby fish and chip shop before heading home. Once inside the shop, the pair found a group of other youngsters inside, who began to throw chips at them. An argument started before the two men were physically attacked, leaving them both needing hospital treatment for facial injuries.
DC Justin Le Fort, from Birmingham Force CID, said: "It seems that the fall out started over very little but then the dispute turned violent and the two young men were left needing stitches to injuries sustained during the fracas.
"We have carried out enquiries and now need help from the public to identify those inside the fish bar at the time, who might be able to help with the investigation."
The incident happened just after 4am on Saturday 9 November.
Anyone with information should call DC Le Fort in Birmingham West and Central Major Investigation Team on 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
