Cough And Cold Medicines Recalled

Thousands of bottles of Tixylix cough and cold medicines, manufactured by drug company Novartis, are being recalled over fears that plastic may have gotten into the medicines.

It is understood that Novartis has been made aware of a possible fault in the tamper seal of the bottles.

The medicines being recalled are:

Tixylix Toddler Syrup 100ml - PL 00030/0150 (Glycerol)

Tixylix Toddler Syrup 150ml - PL 00030/0150 (Glycerol)

Tixylix Baby Syrup 100ml - PL 00030/0150 (Glycerol)

Tixylix Blackcurrant Flavour Syrup 100ml - PL 00030/0150 (Glycerol)

Tixylix Chesty Cough 100ml - PL 00030/0082 (Guaifenesin)

All were manufactured from October 2012 onwards.

There is no evidence that anyone has been harmed, but Novartis has set up a helpline on 0800 854 100.

The medicines should be returned to the point of purchase.
