Briton Facing 16 Year Jail Term In Indonesia

A 57-year-old British woman could face 16 years in jail after admitting to trafficking 1.4kg of crystal methamphetamine into Indonesia.

Former police community support officer Andrew Waldeck, from Gloucestershire, was arrested at a hotel in East Java in April.

She had been facing a possible death sentence due to the type and quantity of the drugs involved.

However, prosecutors called for the custodial sentence along with a €200,000 fine.

Waldeck lost an appeal in August and is understood to be pursuing other legal avenues.
