Tube 'Ambassadors' To Be Drafted In If Strike Action Goes Ahead

Should two planned 48-hour strikes go ahead on the Underground, hundreds of Tube "ambassadors" are set to be drafted in to assist people in getting around London.

RMT union strike action is planned for 4-5 and 11-12 February in protest at plans to close all London Underground ticket offices, with a loss of 750 jobs.

The union condemned the so-called "ambassadors" as "scan volunteers" and "dangerous nonsense".

Transport for London said that the staff would help "beat totally unnecessary industrial action".
