Cadbury To Invest £75m In Birmingham Factory

£75 million is to be invested in Cadbury's Bournville headquarters.

The Birmingham-based chocolate maker announced that it will invest the money over the next three years, bringing four new production lines which would "secure the next generation of manufacturing" at the factory.

Cuadrilla Vows Not To Frack 'Now Or In The Future'

Energy company Cuadrilla has vowed to not frack for oil at its site in Balcombe, West Sussex "now or in the future".

Fears of the procedure lead to more than a thousand people setting up a camp at the height of protests in August.

The company was conducting test drilling at the scene during the summer, but Cuadrilla chief executive Francis Egan has said that the rock where hydrocarbons had been found was "naturally fractured".

Fan Phones 999 'Demanding' To Speak To Alex Ferguson

A Manchester United fan has called 999 "demanding" to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson following the club's defeat to Sunderland in the Capital One Cup

It is understood that a man from Crumpsall phoned Greater Manchester Police (GMP) after the team.

GMP asked the public to "remember that 999 is to be used for emergencies only".

Protesters Maintain Overnight Presence In Sussex
An all night protest has been held in a Sussex village over exploratory oil drilling, after permission was granted for a 3,000ft well and 2,500ft horizontal bore. Around 25 protesters formed a chain at the site near Balcombe overnight, according to the BBC.

Police Issue Warning After Ostrich-Like Bird Reported Missing
People in Nottinghamshire have been warned that a large ostrich-like bird is on the loose after being reported missing from a private collection in Carlton-in-Lindrick. Police were called just after 17:00 on Tuesday to a report of the rhea – a 6ft tall flightless bird native to South America – being missing near Worksop.

Police Hunt For Suspected Murderer
Police have launched a manhunt for 24-year-old Mark Czapla who is wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Essex. He is wanted on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 20s was found dead at a house in Queen Elizabeth Way at around 7.30am this morning.
