Arrest Warrant Issued For Convicted Fraudster John Jenkins
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 70-year-old John Jenkins after he failed to appear for the final day of his trial of charges of fraud.
Mr Jenkins, of Aylesbury, Bucks, was standing trial at St Albans Crown Court accused of fraud by false representation.
It was ruled that the builder's trial could continue in his absence, with a jury finding him guilty.
It is understood that Mr Jenkins failed to appear for the last day of the trial, and has allegedly left the country.
Butcher Shop Criticised Over Window Display
The public has been asked to decide what a butcher in Sudbury, Suffolk, displays in his shop window.
JBS Family Butchers has stopped displaying dead animals in the window of its stores, a practice it says it has done "for years", following threats to boycott shops in the vicinity.
It is understood that two letters were published in local press criticising the butcher shops window display in the Borehamgate shopping centre, with one of the authors saying that they now avoided the area completely.
The shop, which claims the produce on display was changed everyday with everything for sale, has now asked shoppers to decide if it should reinstate its display.
Volunteers Sought For Trams Safety Exercises
Volunteers are being sought to help Edinburgh trams test their crown management procedures.
The company is carrying out a number of tests and exercises of its operational and safety procedures before launching the new tram service.
Edinburgh Trams hope to recruit up to 1,000 members of the public for Exercise Salvador on March 13, which will "test various scenarios in a controlled manner so that we are as prepared as possible before we embark on tram passenger services in May."

High Street Shop Closures Slow Slightly
The rate of high street shop closures has slowed slighted, according to a study. In the first half of the year, some 18 shops closed each day in town centres, down from 20 per day for the same period last year. Overall, 209 shops closed in the first half of the year, compared with 953 for the same period last year.

NHS recruitment drive to focus on over 50s
A new nationwide drive to recruit NHS staff, which will focus for the first time on the over 50s, has been was launched today. NHS Job Shop Day comprises of 220 events taking place around the country on or around 23 September. Around 150 Jobcentres across England will also be holding special NHS events on 23 September as part of NHS Job Shop Day.
