UK Firm To Evacuate Sierra Leone Staff Over Ebola

British iron firm London Mining has evacuated "non-essential" staff from Sierra Leone "non-essential" following an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus.

The company, which is one of the two large extraction companies in the country, said their production in Marampa mine was unaffected and it was working with local and international agencies to monitor the situation and health of its employees.

The Ebola, which emerged in central Africa 20 years ago killing between 25% and 90% of the victims, is spread fro on e to other person with the infected blood, bodily fluids or organs or through contact with contaminated environments and symptoms include internal and external bleeding, diarrhoea and vomiting.

Scottish 'Ebola' Nurse Back In Isolation
A nurse from Scotland who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone last year has been readmitted to a hospital in London following an "unusual late complication" of her illness. Pauline Cafferkey, 39, who is from Cambuslang in South Lanarkshire was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on Tuesday 6 October after feeling unwell.

Staff At North Wales Bus Company Find Company Ceases Overnight
Employees of Western Greyhound in Cornwall have arrived at work this morning to find the company has ceased trading. According to a report by the BBC, around 40 staff arrived for work on Friday morning and found the depot closed.

Ebola Nurse Linked To Visor
A UK nurse who contracted Ebola while working in Sierra Leone is believed to caught it by wearing a visor instead of goggles while treating patients, according to an investigation by Save the Children. However, the charity said it is impossible to be completely certain how Pauline Cafferkey caught the virus.
