Youths arrested after boy is left to die in burning skip

Two youths have been charged in connection with the death of a boy who was left to die in a burning skip.

Michael Temperley (15) was still alive when he was discovered in the skip at Team Valley Retail Park in Gateshead on Monday evening. He was rushed to the nearby Queen Elizabeth hospital, but died from his injuries early on Tuesday morning, surrounded by family members.

Police subsequently arrested two youths, aged 15 and 16, who have been charged with manslaughter and released from custody on conditional bail. The youths will appear before Blaydon magistrates on 22 July.

Fire crews have found a body in a burning skip in Manchester city centre. The body was uncovered when the fire brigade was called to the scene in a car park adjacent to the Apollo Theatre on Hyde Road in Ardwick at about 05:30 on Monday morning.

Bodies In Burning Car Identified
Two bodies found in a burning car in a lay-by in Leicestershire have been identified as a mother and her teenage daughter. The bodies of Fiona Ann Pilkington, 38, and her 18-year-old daughter Francesca Hardwick were found in the car, which was found ablaze in a lay-by off the A47, near Earl Shilton, on Tuesday night.

Burnt Car Park Body Was A Woman Aged In Her 40s
The badly burnt body found beneath burning rubbish in a Sainsbury’s car park has been identified as a female. A police dog handler discovered the fire during his routine patrol around 3am on Tuesday morning. The body was discovered after the fire brigade had extinguished the blaze.

Four Arrests Over Everton Stabbing
Police in Liverpool have made four arrests following the fatal stabbing of a boy in the city last week. Three men and a teenage boy are being held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The men, aged 21, 20 and 18, and a 16-year-old boy are all from the Kirkdale area, Merseyside police said.

Three youths remanded in Damilola murder case
Three youths have appeared in court, charged with the murder of ten-year-old schoolboy, Damilola Taylor. The three teenagers from Peckham, Hassan Jihad, 19, and two brothers, aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were remanded in custody.
