Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid Engaged To Courteney Cox

The guitarist of Snow Patrol Johnny McDaid and the former Friends actress Courteney Cox have revealed their engagement in posts on their Twitter accounts,

The couple posted the same picture and similar captions.

The Londonderry-born musician is 13 year younger than the American actress. Their engagement was first rumoured in April.

Cox finalised her divorce from ex-husband David Arquette in May 2013, before their 14th wedding anniversary and shares with him the custody of their 10-year-old daugther.

Bristol Crocodile Reappear In River Avon

A woman has spotted a crocodile in the River Avon, while she was running along the riverbank near Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge.

29-year-old Tamara Blanco took a picture of the reptilian before quietly moving away.

The Bristol Croc, as it is locally known, was initial sighted by a bus driver a number of months ago, prompting Avon and Somerset Chief Constable Nick Gargan to tweet that police were conducting a search of the riverbank.

However, officers did not find the animal and experts assured the the corc would not last long, due to the temperature.

Producers of a film about crocodiles terrifying locals in Somerset insisted they were not organising a publicity stunt for their film.

Liam Neeson's Nephew In Critical Condition

Liam Neeson's 30-year-old nephew is in critical condition after suffering serious head injuries in a fall from a telephone box on Brighton Pier, East Sussex, on Sunday night at about 4.00am.

Police confirmed Mr Neeson's nephew was taken to the Royal Sussex County hospital and later transferred to Hurstwood Park Hospital in Haywards Heath.

The incident is no being treated as suspicious.

A Sussex police spokesman said: "Just after 4am on Sunday, June 22, a 30-year-old Worthing man had climbed on to the top of a telephone kiosk outside Brighton Pier when he fell 20ft to the ground, sustaining a serious head injury.”

Only five years ago, the actors wife Natasha Richardson died after hitting her head in a skiing accident in Canada.

Two Arrested Over Hastings Pier Blaze
As firefighters continue to battle the blaze on Hastings pier in East Sussex, two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, who spent most of the night trying to control the fire, said around 95% of the Victorian pier has been destroyed. There are no reports of any injuries.

Nanny In Court Over 'Ann Summers Poisoning'
A Sussex nanny has appeared in court charged with attempting to poison Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold. The multi-millionaire lingerie tycoon, 50, hired her to look after her child at her home in Whyteleafe, Surrey. Allison Cox, 33, from West Sussex, is accused of lacing Ms Gold's food with screen wash.

7-Year-Old Shot In Head In East Sussex
A 7-year-old girl is "gravely ill" in King's College Hospital after being shot in the head. Police said the girl was found at a house in Northiam, East Sussex, suffering a gunshot wound to the head at about 16:00 on Thursday.

Ex-Bishop and Former Priest Arrested In Abuse Investigation
A former Church of England bishop and a retired priest have been arrested on suspicion of sex abuse. The Right Reverend Peter Ball, a former bishop of Lewes and Gloucester, is being held on suspicion of abusing eight boys and men in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was arrested at his home near Langport, Somerset.

Buxton River Crash Victim Named
A man who died when his car went off a road crashing into a Derbyshire river has been named as David Cox. Mr Cox, who worked at the BBC in Salford, skidded off a bridlepath north of the A6 in Buxton while driving his daughter to school.
