Giant Tyre Fire Fills Glasgow Sky With Black Smoke

Firefighters in Glasgow have spent the night tackling a blaze at an industrial estate in the west of the city, which has sent think black smoke drifting across the city.

It is understood that fire broke out at about 22:00 on Thursday at a site near Meadowside Street, Renfrew.

75 firefighters fought the blaze overnight, which is now said to be under control.

There are no reports of any injuries in the incident.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.

100 Firefighters Tackle Blaze At Didcot B
An investigation is underway into a major fire at Didcot B power station in Oxfordshire. A fire was reported at the station at about 20:00 on Sunday night, with more than 100 firefighters and 25 fire engines on the scene at the height of the blaze.

Fire at Yorkshire paint factory under control
Firefighters have brought a blaze in a paint storage depot in Easy Yorkshire under control. The blaze was apparently the result of an explosion in the solvent depot of a paint factory. Nearby residents said that they heard an explosion at the Baroline paint works in the Swinemore Industrial Estate in Beverely at around 9.00am on Friday morning.

Fire Closes Oxfordshire Shopping Outlet
A fire has broken out at the Bicester Village shopping outlet in Oxfordshire. The blaze started at around 8.45am this morning it is understood. Seven fire crews are currently at the scene as they try to extinguish the fire. It is thought the blaze broke out at Carluccio's restaurant on the site. Its roof has been destroyed.

Britons feared dead in Paris fire
Three British women are feared to have been killed in a fire in an apartment block in Paris. The women are believed to have been staying in the five-storey apartment building in Rue des Innocents in the city centre when the fire broke out early on Saturday morning.

Flights Suspended At Glasgow Airport Following Emergency
Four people were injured during an emergency evacuation of a plane at Glasgow Airport around 07.40 on Friday morning. All flights to and from the airport are currently suspended. Passengers and crew left the aircraft using the emergency exits after the captain of an Alicante-bound Jet2 aircraft declared an emergency.
