'Heathrow City' Plans Unveiled

New designs commissioned by Transport for London for 'Heathrow City' have been unveiled.

Accommodating almost 200,000 homes, parkland and a factory, the newly designed 'city' is a proposed redevelopment of the site should Heathrow Airport close.

The proposed 'Heathrow City' has been backed by London Mayor Boris Johnson, who is understood to favour a Thames Estuary hub airport.

It is understood that Mr Johnsons is backing the proposals due to the demand for housing in the city.

The Airports Commission is due to rule on the feasibility of an Estuary airport next year.
