Part of Eastbourne Pier has been destroyed in a fire that broke out behind wood panelling in an arcade.

The fire was discovered on Wednesday afternoon and quickly spread from arcade and along the pier.

An investigation in to the cause of the fire is underway, while management of the pier are to met to discuss the damage and how best to salvage the damaged structures.
