Body Found In Search For Missing Welsh Man In Crete

North Wales Police have confirmed that a body has been found by Greek authorities searching for missing 73-year-old Arthur Jones.

Mr Jones, from Denbigh, has been missing in Crete since 19 June, two days after arriving on the island for a holiday.

It is believed that Mr Jones, a keen walker, may have gone out alone for a walk on the island.

North Wales Police (NWP) have reported that Greek authorities have recovered a body from a rural location in the Chania area of northern Crete.

A formal identification is still to take place but NWP missing person coordinator, Mark Owen, said that Mr Jones' family has been informed of the discovery.
