RideLondon Cyclist Dies After Collapse

A 36-year-old cyclist has died after suffering a cardiac arrest during the RideLondon event on Sunday.

RideLondon organisers say the Kris Cook, from Woking, collapsed at Newlands Corner, near Guildford. He was treated by doctors at the scene before being taken to hospital. He was pronounced dead a short after arrival.

Mr Cook is understood to have been part of a group of 12 cyclists taking part in the event to raise money for Woking Hospice.

The funeral has taken place of RMT union leader Bob Crow, who died aged 52 on 11 March. Thousands of people joined friends and colleagues who lined the route of the funeral procession for the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) general secretary, who's coffin was was carried in a horse-drawn carriage from his house in Woodford, east London.

Olympic 'Bond' Parachutist Killed
The stuntman who famously parachuted into the London 2012 opening ceremony as James Bond has been killed in an accident. According to numerous sources, 42-year-old Mark Sutton died on Wednesday during a wing-diving event near Martigny in Switzerland. It is thought Mr Sutton died after he crashed into a ridge of rock.

Labour to hold memorial for Robin Cook
The Labour Party are to organise a memorial event in remembrance of former Foreign Secretary Robin Cook who died last weekend. Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott said that the memorial would give those who knew Mr Cook the opportunity to “remember and celebrate his work for the party and the country.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
