Numbers Swell At Lancashire Anti-Fracking Protest Camp

A protest camp has been established in a field near a proposed drilling site in Lancashire.

Around 100 members of Reclaim the Power have joined a group of local women who established the anti-fracking camp in Little Plumpton, near Blackpool last week.

Energy firm Cuadrilla have applied to the county council to hydraulically fracture for shale gas at the Preston New Road site and also at its Roseacre site.

Ken Livingstone appeals suspension
London Mayor Ken Livingstone is appealing against his suspension from the post over remarks made to a Jewish reporter. Mr Livingstone was given a four-week suspension by the Standards Board for England in February because of the affair.
