BFI Launch Appeal For Lost Sherlock Holmes Film

The British Film Institute (BFI) National Archives have made an appeal for help in finding the first film to feature Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Scarlet.

The silent film was made in 1914, but there are no known copies in existence and is on the BFI's most wanted list of 75 missing British films.
