Ex NOTW Journalist Admits Phone Hacking

A former News of the World news editor has admitted to phone hacking.

Ian Edmondson, 45, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey Court in London.

Edmondson illegally intercepted voicemails on many famous people, including Sir Paul McCartney and actor Jude Law, between October 200 and August 2006.

Edmondson is the eighth person to be convicted in connection with the phone hacking scandal.

Eight To Be Charged With Phone Hacking
Rebekah Brooks, Andy Coulson and six others will face a total of 19 charges relating to phone hacking, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has said. The former News of the World editors will be charged in connection with the accessing of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler's phone messages.

No Criminal Charge Over Phone-Hacking Claims
Following an investigation into phone hacking claims at the News of the World David Cameron's Director of Communications, Andy Coulson, will not be facing criminal charges. Keir Starmer, Director of Public Prosecutions, said that no evidence existed to formally charge anyone.

Walliams Settles Hacking Claim With NGN
David Walliams has reached an undisclosed settlement with News Group Newspapers (NGN) over phone-hacking allegations. Walliams had begun a legal chase after being told by the news group that it had been intercepting his voicemail since 2005. No details of the settlement have been released but the figure is said to be "substantial".

Almost 50 New Phone Hacking Claims Made Against NOTW
News International is facing almost 50 new claims over phone hacking. The high court has heard that nearly 50 new civil claims for damages have been made against the News of the World over alleged phone hacking.
