Morrissey Reveals Cancer Treatment
A Spanish newspaper interview with Morrissey has revealed that he has undergone treatment to remove cancerous tissues.
The interview reveals that the 55-year-old has been had four bouts of treatment in the last year and a half.
Speaking of the removal of what he called "cancerous tissues", he said: "If I die, then I die. And if I don't, then I don't. Right now I feel good."
Fifth Wild Goat Killed With Crossbow
A fifth wild goat has been killed with a crossbow in Trefor, Gwynedd, Wales, police have said.
Five animals have been killed in the same manner in the past month.
Police say they believe that someone, armed with a crossbow, is lying in wait for the animals to get close enough to be able to shoot one. They say they are concerned that a member of the public could stumble upon the culprit as they are hiding.
DNA is being taken from the arrows in a bid to catch the offender.
Residents Moved Over Flooding Fears
Flooding fears have led to some residents of seafront homes in the Aberdeenshire town of Stonehaven being evacuated.
Flood warnings and weather alerts have been issued by the Met Office.
Nine people have been moved from ground floor flats, police have said.

The UK today awarded contracts to double emergency supplies of flu drugs to treat everyone who is predicted to fall ill in a pandemic, making the UK one of the most prepared countries in the world. The agreements with Roche and GlaxoSmithKline will double antiviral stockpiles, which are expected to be in place by April 2009.

Government announces funding for drug treatment services
Drug treatment services across the country will receive an extra £95.2 million this year, under new plans announced by the government. The Department of Health, supported by £22 million of funding from the Home Office, will provide Drug Action Teams with £394.6 million - an increase of over 30% from last year.

Rise in crack users sent for treatment
More crack users are being targeted in custody and referred to drug treatment services, a new report published by the Home Office claims. The 'Arrest Referral' report shows that between October 2001 and September 2002, 12,014 crack users were interviewed, and of those 8,656 were referred to specialist drug treatment services - 18.

Ian Tomlinson Unlawfully Killed, Finds Jury
An inquest jury has ruled that Ian Tomlinson was unlawfully killed at the G20 protests in London. Mr Tomlinson, 47, died after he was struck by a baton by Pc Simon Harwood on 1 April 2009 during the London protests. The jury determined the officer used "excessive and unreasonable" force on Mr Tomlinson who was not taking part in the protests.
