Police Launch Murder Investigation After Man Killed On M4

A man who was struck by a car and killed on the M4 in Berkshire is being treated as murder, police have confirmed.

The pedestrian was hit on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 10 for Reading and 8/9 for Windsor, on Friday night.

A driver reported hitting someone.

The man, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out later today.

Detective Chief Superintendent Chris Ward, of Thames Valley Police's major crime unit, said: "We have been investigating the death of a man in his forties on the M4 on Friday night and working to establish the exact circumstances behind the death.

"It is as a result of this work that we are now treating this death as a murder investigation. I therefore ask that if anyone was travelling along this stretch of motorway on Friday night and saw anything which could help our investigation they get in touch immediately."

Man Faces Baby Murder Charge
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a four-month-old baby girl. Craig Jamieson, 28, from Scotscoun, appeared before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody. Mr Jamieson was arrested on Friday, shortly after the baby died in Glasgow's Yorkhill Hospital, after being taken from her home in Partick.

British Man Charged With Killing Wife In Grenada
A British man has been charged with killing his wife after her body was discovered in a shallow grave in the Caribbean. Nixiann Downes-Clack's body was discovered in Grenada on Friday after she was reported missing by relatives. A post-mortem examination revealed she died of a blunt force trauma and asphyxiation by strangulation.

82-Year-Old Man Found Stabbed To Death
Gloucestershire Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of an 82-year-old man was discovered in Stroud. Police said the man, whose identity has not be released, was found at a property on Walkley Hill on Friday. The man died of stab wounds, according to the police.
