Funeral Of Lynda Bellingham Held In Somerset

The funeral of actress Lynda Bellingham has taken place in Somerset today.

The 66-year-old, best known for her role on the Oxo adverts, died last month after a long battle with colon cancer.

Days before her death she chose to stop her cancer treatment.

Over 100 members of the public gathered outside St Bartholomew's Church in Crewkerne to pay their respects.

Her friend, former Archdeacon of London Peter Delaney MBE, led the service.

Mourners included Loose Women co-stars Coleen Nolan, Lisa Maxwell, Kate Thornton, Andrea McLean and Jane McDonald.

Her husband, Michael Pattemore, wrote on her Twitter account: 'Been looking at all your messages as you all know Lynda will be laid to rest on Monday a very sad day'.

Lynda Bellingham Dies Aged 66
Actor and presenter Lynda Bellingham has died aged 66. Ms Bellingham, who was diagnosed with cancer in July 2013, died on Sunday "in her husband's arms", her agent, Sue Latimer, confirmed. She was known for shows such as 'All Creatures Great and Small' and in recent years was on the panel of ITV's 'Loose Women'.

Life For Gardening Murderer
A gardener has been jailed for life after being found guilty of the murder of 54-year-old Lynda Casey from Coulsdon in Surrey. Ms Casey's body was found by police search teams in an area of Banstead Woods in Surrey known as Great Solom’s Wood on 13 August 2009. A post mortem examination showed she had suffered multiple head injuries.

Man Jailed For Mothers Murder In Somerset Village
A man has been found guilty at Exeter Crown Court of the murder of his mother at her home in the village of Norton Fitzwarren in Somerset. 27-year-old Alex McDonald, of Hilly Park in the village, was convicted on Tuesday, 23 June. He is due to be sentenced today (Wednesday).

Four Bailed In Child Exploitation Inquiry
Avon and Somerset Constabulary said four men arrested earlier this week on suspicion of child sexual exploitation offences have been released on bail. The men were arrested on Wednesday after warrants were executed at four addresses in Bristol and one in the Newport area of South Wales.
