Sainbury's To Enter Discount Sector With Netto Chain
Sainsbury's have entered into a new partnership with Danish discount chain Netto, to open a new store in Leeds.
The UK supermarket is entering the discount sector in direct competition to Aldi and Lidl. It is understood that if successful, the Netto chain will be "rolled out" across the UK.
Netto had previously operated stores in the UK for 14 years, until it sold its operations to Asda.
It is understood that currently the discount sector is worth an estimated £10 billion in annual sales.

Electric Car Discount Extended To Vans
Van drivers can now avail of a discount up to £8000 off the cost of an electric van, according to the transport minister on Tuesday. Norman Baker and Business Minister Mark Prisk announced the move as an extension of the "Plug-In Car Grant", which offers 25% - up to £5000 – to motorists buying electric cars.

Tesco Losing Out To Competitors
Sales at supermarket chain Tesco are said to be falling faster than any of its competitors. The findings, which have been complied by research firm Kantar Worldpanel, found that the troubled business is also losing its market share to discounted chains such as Aldi and Lidl. Waitrose is also usurping some of the market share.
