Police Appeal To Letter Writers In Ghafoor Murder Investigation
Police investigating the 1994 murder of taxi driver Ethsham Ghafoor, have released parts of two letters they received from people claiming to have information about the case.
Mr Ghafoor was found shot dead in his taxi on 22 November 1994. He had been shot twice, once in the body and once in the head.
Police believe that Mr Ghafoor was being followed and had been assaulted in the weeks prior to his death.
As part of a major review of the case, police have released extracts from two letters and an image of a card they received. They said that they are keen to trace whoever wrote the letters. It is understood that police received the letters in 1995, a year after Mr Ghafoor was found dead.
A reward of up to £20,000 is being offered for information about the case leading to a conviction.
