Man Dies In School Bus Collision In Cardiff

A 40-year-old man has died in a collision with a school bus in Cardiff just after 8am this morning.

Six children have also been injured in the crash between a car and a bus at the junction of Cypress Drive and Willowdene Way, St Mellons.

South Wales Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A City of Cardiff Council spokesman said: "It is understood that approximately 40 school children were travelling on the bus, those requiring medical treatment have received it from the Emergency Services and a replacement bus service has been provided. Support will be provided to children as required."

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Children Rescued From School Bus Fire
Fifteen children had to be rescued from a school bus after it caught fire in Hertfordshire early on Monday morning. It is understood that the bus was "well alight" when the fire service was called just before 07:30 am. All fifteen children on the bus were evacuated by the fire service and there were no reports of any injuries.

School bus carrying 30 children crashes
A group of 30 schoolchildren have been involved in a collision involving their school bus in Hartlepool. The incident happened just after 3:30pm on Wednesday afternoon. Three vehicles were involved in the crash - the school bus, a mini-bus and a Renault Megane Scenic.
