Charity's Head of Finance Arrested On Suspicion Of Fraud

Police in Swansea have arrested the head of finance at a homeless charity on suspicion of fraud.

Police arrested 47-year-old Mark Davies, who works at Cyrenians Cymru, on suspicion of defrauding the charity of almost £800,000.

Mr Davies has been released on bail while the economic crime unit continues its investigation.

Police Officer Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder
A 49-year-old police officer has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife. It is understood that the suspect is a serving officer in Northamptonshire. He was arrested at his home in Wootton Hall Park on Thursday at about 13:00, following reports of "an incident".

An inspector with the Metropolitan Police force has been arrested on suspicion of racist abuse, fuelling the ongoing controversy of alleged racism within Britain’s largest police force. The Met said officers working in the force’s complaints department arrested the inspector, who is based in north London, on Tuesday. He has since been suspended.

Further Arrest in Rhys Murder Investigation
Police investigating the murder of Merseyside schoolboy Rhys Jones have made another arrest. A 20-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with Rhys' murder, Merseyside Police confirmed on Wednesday. Earlier, it was confirmed that police have been granted more time to continue questioning eleven people arrested in connection with the case.

Teenager Arrested Over Rape Of 12-Year-Old Girl
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Athens police station damaged by triple blast
A police station in the Greek capital of Athens has been rocked by three bomb explosions, just 100 days before the city is due to host the Olympic Games. Three homemade devices went off next to a police station in the Kalithea district. The explosions caused extensive damage to the police station and a police officer was slightly injured.
