Oldham Athletic To Discuss Signing Of Ched Evans

Oldham Athletic is reconsidering its decision to sign convicted rapist Ched Evans.

Over 20,000 people signed an online petition calling on the club not to sign Evans, 26.

The club is believed to be holding a meeting today to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, Labour leader, Ed Miliband does not believe the footballer should be signed as he has shown "no remorse".

Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester, he said: "He hasn't shown remorse and I wouldn't take him on."

The club's main sponsor, Verlin Rainwater Solutions, will end its association with the club if Evans is signed, it is understood.

An announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday afternoon.
