Resurfacing Scheme On A590 To Begin
The Highways Agency is to begin a resurfacing scheme on a one-and-a-half-mile stretch of the A590 by Greenodd roundabout on Friday 6 February.
The firm plans to close the road overnight for two weekends to carry out the work. The gullies will also be repaired and road markings will be replaced.
The resurfacing work was due to be carried out last month however it had to be cancelled because of the weather. A signed diversion along A roads, suitable for all vehicles including HGVs, will be in place.
Two Men Jailed For False Imprisonment And Assault
Two men have been put behind bars for almost 29 years for false imprisonment and assault in Bristol.
Blake Waldron, 24, of Wallingford Road, Knowle West and Curtis Jewell, 22, of Kenmare Road, Knowle West, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and false imprisonment.
On July last year, a man was held inside a house and had one of his toes cut off in a dispute over missing drugs.
At Bristol Crown Court, Waldron was sentenced to 16 years and 3 months imprisonment and Jewell was sentenced to 12 years and 8 months.
CCTV Images Released Following Attempted Armed Robbery
CCTV images of a man officers believe may have important information following an attempted armed robbery at a bank in Walton on Friday 23 January have been released.
Officers were called to Barclays, County Road, at around 3.40pm, following a report that a man armed with what was believed to be some form of firearm had threatened a cashier and demanded cash.
A fogging device installed in the branch was effectively deployed and the offender left empty handed. Patrols attended at the scene and CCTV opportunities in the area have been reviewed.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A reward of £20,000 has been offered for information leading to a conviction for the 2010 murder of 16-year-old Samuel Adelagun in Plaistow. Police have renewed their appeal on the murder of the teenager and the attempted murder of his 15-year-old friend on Saturday, 23 October 2010.

A group of five, including three teenagers, have been jailed for over 30 years over a series of robberies on cash in transit vans in Central and Northwest London. The five males appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, where they were sentenced for a string of robberies which took place between 1 December 2010 to 27 January 2011.
