Former US Marine extradited from Germany

A former US marine who was arrested in Germany for allegedly abducting a Manchester schoolgirl is being extradited back to Britain today.

Toby Studabaker (31), from Michigan, USA, was arrested on July 17 at Frankfurt Airport in a joint operation between Greater Manchester Police, German authorities and the FBI.

In addition to a charge of abduction, he will also been charged with inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency.

Mr Studabaker has denied having a sexual relationship with the 12-year-old whom he met on an internet chat room, and insists that he believed that she was 18-years-old.

The ex-marine and the schoolgirl went missing on July 13, sparking a four-day manhunt. The schoolgirl flew home to her parents before Mr Studabaker was apprehended.
