Teenager Guilty Of Plot To Behead Soldier

A 19-year-old man has been found guilty of planning to behead a British soldier, the BBC has reported.

Brusthom Ziamani was carrying a 12 inch knife, a hammer and an Islamic flag at the time of his arrested in east London in August 2014.

During an investigation it was found that the teenager had researched Army cadet bases. It is understood he had been "inspired" by the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in 2013.

According to the BBC, Ziamani was arrested after boasting to his ex-girlfriend of a plot to "kill soldiers" and showed her his weapons.

He is due to return to court on 20 March for sentencing.
