Teenage Pregnancies At Their Lowest Since Records Began
Teenage pregnancies in England and Wales are at their lowest since records began in 1969, new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed.
The figures show that pregnancies amongst under 18s is currently 24.5 per one thousand women, down from 27.9 in the previous year.
The number of pregnancies in the under 16 age group also fell.

Rise In Teenage Pregnancies, Figures Show
The number of teenage pregnancies in England and Wales has risen by 6.4% in one year, according to new figures released today. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed the teen pregnancy rate was 42.6 girls per 1,000, from January to March 2007, while it was 42.7 for the period April to June.

Youth Programme Pilot 'Did Not Reduce Teenage Pregnancies'
A government-backed pilot scheme to help cut pregnancies among teenagers at risk has been abandoned as it failed to have any significant impact. An independent review published today by the bmj.com was commissioned by the Department of Health to examine the £5.9m Young People’s Development Programme (YPDP).

Lack of confidential teen sex advice ‘disastrous’
A lack of confidential sexual health advice for teenagers could be “disastrous”, a sexual health charity has warned. Jan Barlow, Chief Executive of Brook, warned that a massive increase in unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections could result if young people no longer had access to confidential advice.

Road deaths ‘lowest since figures began’
The number of people killed on Britain’s roads last year was the lowest since records began in 1926, according to the latest government figures. The number of people killed in road accidents in 2004 was 3,221 – a drop of 8% on 2003’s figures ,when 3,508 were killed. The figures contrast with an estimated increase in road traffic of 2% last year.

Winter Deaths Lowest Since Records Began
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed that winter deaths in 2013/14 were the lowest since records began. According to figures, an estimated 18,200 people died in England and Wales last year, the lowest number since 1950/51. However, when comparing deaths in winter to other seasons, there was an 11.6% rise.
