Man Arrested Over Shetland Ferry Drug Seizure

Police Scotland have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with a suspected drug seizure on a ferry from Aberdeen, Shetland.

Police said that during an operation by Dogs Against Drugs, drugs suspected to be heroin were discovered in the possession of a 19-year-old man.

A police spokesman said: "We urge the public to help and report anyone who they believe is involved in using or selling illegal drugs in Shetland."

54 arrested in swoop on suspected drug dealers
Sellers of the Big Issue were among 54 people arrested by Merseyside Police today in a crackdown on drug dealing in Liverpool city centre. Operation Manton targeted suspected drug dealers and drug users and 50 men and four women were arrested following a 15-month long investigation by Merseyside Police into drug dealing on the city's streets.

Further Six Arrested In No Deal Operation In Birmingham
A further six people have been arrested as part of an ongoing operation targeting suspected drug dealers in Birmingham. Police carried out a series of dawn raids on Thursday 24 September, arresting a 17-year-old man, two 19-year-olds and three men aged 21, 26 and 47.

Doherty Arrested For Suspected Drug Possession
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has been arrested for suspected drug possession. He was arrested in the Tower Hamlets area of east London at around 2am on Monday morning just hours after performing at the V festival. The 28-year-old singer is currently being held at an east London police station.

Police campaign targets Class A drug dealers
A three-month police campaign has been launched to clamp down on local Class A drug markets across the UK. Entitled 'Operation Crackdown', the scheme, which involves 32 police forces in England and Wales, aims to close drug dens and disrupt local drug markets, as well as also seize illegal firearms and bring dealers to justice.
