Police have issued a new appeal for information on the murders of of two women in 1975.

In 2004, police found DNA evidence that linked two separate murders in that year: Eve Stratford (22) was found with found murdered in her home in Leyton, east London, in March 1975. And six months later the body of Lynne Weedon (16) was found in an alleyway close to her home in Hounslow, west London.

Investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Noel McHugh said the suspect would now likely be aged in his 60s of 70s: "It's inconceivable the killer of Eve and Lynne has kept the perfect secret for 40 years.
