Three Arrested In West Yorkshire Over Irish Drug Seizure

Police have arrested three people in West Yorkshire in connection with a drug seizure off the coast of Ireland in September last year.

The arrests are part of an investigation into a £150 million drug haul uncovered by Irish authorities onboard a luxury yacht off the Irish coast.

Police named the suspects as 44-year-old David Webster, 56-year-old Dawne Powell and 29-year-old Philip McElhone – all three are from West Yorkshire.

They have been charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 08 April.

Three other men are also waiting to go on trial in Ireland charged in connection with the same case.

House prices in the three months to October were 1.2% lower than in the preceding three months, according to the Halifax. Irish Guardsman Dies In Afghan Firefight
The Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson has this morning expressed his sympathy to the family of a soldier from the 1st Battalion Irish Guards who has been killed in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that he was shot in an ambush while patrolling in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province yesterday afternoon.

Three soldiers killed in three days
Three British soldiers have been killed in Iraq in three days. The latest soldier to die was Corporal Christopher Read, 22, who was one of those injured in an operation to round up suspected militants in Basra.
