Morrisons Announce 720 Job Cuts
Supermarket chain Morrisons has announced that it is to cut 720 jobs at its head office in Bradford.
The supermarket is to carry out a consultation on a "simplified management structure".
Chief executive David Potts said the business had made "tough but necessary decisions".
Farmer Loses Fight To Keep Mock Tudor Castle
A Surrey farmer has lost a seven year legal fight to keep a mock Tudor castle he built on his property without planning permission.
Robert Fidler built the castle at Honeycrock Farm, in Salfords, Surrey, in 2002. It is understood that he hid the building behind hay bales.
The local council first ruled in 2008 that the castle should be demolished, a decision later backed by the government.
The High Court subsequently also ruled against the structure, a ruling upheld by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
Asda Ban School Pupils Following 'Incident'
An Asda store in Llandudno has banned school pupils.
The shop said that the ban had been introduced following an incident involving pupils from Ysgol John Bright before Easter.
"Following a number of complaints from customers about the school children causing trouble, we've taken the decision to enforce a temporary ban on groups of children during school time."

£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.

Fifty of England’s top public schools have broken competition law by exchanging information about fees, the Office of Fair Trading has announced. Following an investigation lasting more than two years, the OFT found that pupils’ parents ended up paying higher fees as a result of the information-sharing.

A primary school teacher has been jailed for six months after admitting making a possessing indecent images of children. 40-year-old Simon Clannachan pleaded guilty to 14 charges of making indecent images of children and seven of possessing pornographic images portraying a sexual act with an animal.

The work of a Scottish charity to ensure Malawian school pupils can enjoy a nutritious meal at school has been highlighted by Scotland’s Education Secretary in Neno. Scottish Education Secretary Michael Russell has visited the town’s Chifunga 1 primary school and the nearby St Daniel Comboni Under-Six Centre to see the work of Mary’s Meals.
