Renewed Appeal For Hit-And-Run Driver

Merseyside Police have renewed an appeal for information on a hit-and-run in Wallasey on Thursday 16 April.

Police had previously said that they were searching for a "dark coloured car" after it had hit an elderly female pedestrian at about 10am on Gorsey Lane, outside the Somerville Medical Centre.

Police have now said that they believe the car they are searching for was a dark-coloured Vauxhall Corsa.

The driver of the car, described only as a white man aged 20-30 years and driving an older model dark coloured car, stopped at the scene for a short period but left the scene before officers arrived.

Officers have urged the driver of the vehicle or anyone who witnessed this incident to contact 0151 777 5747 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
