Further Appeal For New Hillsborough Witnesses

Police investigating the 1989 Hillsborough disaster have released more images of people they hope to trace.

It follows a request last week for help tracing 18 people that investigators hoped could provide new information to the new inquiry. 11 of those have now been identified.

Operations Resolve is now hoping to trace a number of unknown individuals, shown in images from 15 April, 1989, helping injured people on the day.

Assistant Commissioner Jon Stoddart, who is leading the Operation Resolve investigation, said: "The response to our appeal has been phenomenal and I am extremely grateful to the public for their support, especially those who have made contact with us to identify themselves, a relative or friend.

"It is important that we track these potential witnesses down as they could help answer some of the many questions that the families of the 96 still have."
