Woman's Body Found In Sunderland River
The body of a woman has been recovered from the River Wear in Sunderland.
Police said that a member of the public reported seeing a body on the riverside near to Wearmouth Bridge at about 07:30 on Thursday morning.
Police recovered the body and are trying to establish the identity of the woman and the cause of death.
The woman is described as being white, in her 20s and has shoulder length dark brown hair.
She was wearing a dark green Regatta zip up fleece top, a blue and red checked shirt, dark coloured skinny jeans and brown ankle boots with laces.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have information to help to contact them on 101, ext 69191.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
A body has been discovered in Sutton Mill by police investigating the disappearance of Jennifer Hayman. The body was found at 18:00 on Thursday. Formal identification has not yet been made, but police said that Ms Hayman's family have been informed of the find. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Third Body Found In Arson Attack Mansion
A third body has been found in the burnt-out mansion of a millionaire businessman. Christopher Foster, 50, his wife Jill, 49, and their 15-year-old daughter Kirstie had not been seen since the arson attack last Tuesday at Osbaston House, a large country estate in Shropshire. West Mercia Police are treating the case as a murder inquiry.

A body found off the coast of the Netherlands is believed to be Suzanne Hughes, Norfolk Police have said. Ms Hughes from Solihull was last seen at about 22:30 on 17 July in Norfolk, where she was holidaying with her husband, daughter and grandson.

Police Appeal For Missing 15-Year-Old
West Yorkshire Police have appealed for help in tracing 15-year-old Umme Habiba Tahir from Bradford. The teenager was last seen in Bradford city centre at about 17:00 on Tuesday, 18 August. She is Asian with dark brown hair which was tied up in a bun. She is described as very petite, around 5ft 2ins tall.
