Police Appeal For Witnesses To 'Serious Collision' Near Pickering

North Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses to a "serious collision" near Pickering on Friday 01 May.

It is understood that three cars – a black Peugeot 106, a black Mercedez and a black Honda Civic – were involved in a collision at about 22:00 on the A169 Pickering to Whitby road.

The driver and the passenger of the Puegeot – two men aged 24 and 22 respectively – suffered serious injuries in the collision, with the passenger needing to be cut from the vehicle by firecrews.

Two female occupants of the Mercedes were assessed at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment. The male and female occupants of the Honda were uninjured.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision, or any of the vehicles involved prior to it, to contact them on 101.

Up To Four Suffer 'Life-Changing' Injuries In Troop Carrier Collision
More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".

Unlicensed Minicab Driver Jailed For Killing Passenger
An unlicensed minicab driver has been jailed for eight years for causing the death of a passenger. Matab Uddin, 59, of Blackshots Lane, Essex was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving and fraud. The court heard how police were called on Sunday, 17 November 2013 at about 1:45am to reports of a man injured on Essex Road.

Car Crash Kills Two In Wrexham
Two men have died in a road traffic collision near Wrexham. The deceased, aged 19 and 22, and from Shropshire, were travelling along the A495 Ellesmere Road, in the direction of Penley, when their car hit a tree. The incident, which involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa, happened at around 10.55pm on Thursday.

One killed in helicopter collision
One person has been killed after two RAF helicopters collided in mid-air, it has been reported. According to reports, at least two other people have been injured in the crash, which took place near Market Drayton in Shropshire, just before 3pm on Wednesday. The helicopters involved are believed to be Squirrel training helicopters from RAF Shawbury.
