Mother And Daughters Found Dead At House In East London
A mother and her twin daughter have been found dead at a house in east London.
Police confirmed the woman, aged 37, and her daughters, aged 13, were found at a property in Grove Road, Chadwell Heath shortly after 1pm on Tuesday. It is understood the family had not been seen since Sunday. Concerns were raised regarding their welfare and officers from the Metropolitan Police initially called to the address on Monday night. There was no response, nor any signs of a disturbance at the house, so officers left. They returned on Tuesday and when they broke into the property, they found the bodies. Post-mortem examinations are due to take place, but Scotland Yard said the three female bodies had no signs of visible injuries.
The girls' father, believed to be in his 40s, who was missing from the address, was later found hanged at Woodford Reservoir in Walthamstow.
Formal identification is yet to take place, as are post-mortem examinations, but Scotland Yard said the three female bodies had no signs of visible injuries.
Detective Superintendent Kenny McDonald said: "At this stage in our ongoing investigation we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths. We are making extensive enquiries to trace next of kin, who we believe to be outside of the UK."
