Woman And Two Teens Guilty Of Manslaughter
A woman and two teenage boys have been found guilty of the manslaughter of a man in Southend.
Danielle Russell, 26, and two teenagers had been standing trial for the murder of 24-year-old Anton Levin who died on 19 November, 2014.
All three were found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter. They were also found guilty of conspiracy to commit GBH on another man as well as guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery. They were found not guilty of attempted murder on another man aged in his 20s.
Mr Levin, from Dagenham, was stabbed and died at Miss Russell's home in St Anns Road, Southend, and another man was injured.
Sentencing for Miss Russell and the teenage boys, aged 16 from Thurrock and 17 from Basildon has been adjourned until 03 July at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Police Appeal After Shots Fired At Property In Liverpool
Police are appealing for information after shots were fired at a property in Tuebrook, Liverpool, in the early hours of Saturday, 30 May.
A report was received that shots had been fired in Ellel Grove at around 1.30am.
Officers attended and found damage to the front door of a house which is consistent with a shotgun discharge.
No one was injured during the incident.
The scene was sealed for forensic examination, house-to-house enquiries are underway and patrols have been stepped up in the area.
An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is underway and although the investigation is in its early stages police believe that this was a targeted attack.
The same house was subject to damage following a firearms discharge three weeks ago on 07 May 2015.
Man Jailed After Police Seize Gun Hidden In A Sock
A man has been jailed after officers from GMP's Xcalibre Task Force seized a gun concealed in a sock just two days after the Force’s official gun amnesty ended.
Trevor Gayle, of Claude Road, Chorlton, admitted possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
At Minshull Street Crown Court he was sentenced to five years in prison.
Shortly before 7am on Monday 28 July 2014, a warrant was executed at Gayle's home.
During the search a handgun, now identified as a Kimar self-loading pistol was found concealed in a sock along with a box containing approximately 100 rounds of ammunition.
A quantity of crack cocaine and heroin, with an estimated street value of more than £1,200 was also recovered.

Ten Jailed Over £36m Drug Smuggling Plot
Ten men convicted of attempting to smuggle drugs worth £36 million into Britain in a rusty tugboat, have been jailed. The smugglers – including British criminals and members of a Serbian gang – were caught trying to flood the UK with 12.5 tonnes of cannabis resin, following a surveillance operation by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca).

A 15-year-old boy has been found guilty of the murder of a young woman who was killed for dressing like a Goth. Brendan Harris was found guilty of the murder of Sophie Lancaster, 20, in Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Lancashire, last August.
