More Than 70 Firefighters Tackle Hackney Blaze

More than 70 firefighters are tackling a blaze at a range of shops on Yorkton Street in Hackney.

London Fire Brigade responded to a call just after 13:00 of thick black smoke, that is said to be visible for miles.

Residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed.

Firefighters from Soho, Islington, Holloway, Shoreditch, Homerton, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Tottenham and Poplar fire stations are at the scene.

100 Firefighters Tackle Blaze At Didcot B
An investigation is underway into a major fire at Didcot B power station in Oxfordshire. A fire was reported at the station at about 20:00 on Sunday night, with more than 100 firefighters and 25 fire engines on the scene at the height of the blaze.

Firefighters Tackle Overnight Church Blaze
Firefighters in Glasgow have fought a blaze at a church in the city over night. Emergency services where alerted to the fire on Crossloan Road, Govan at about 22:30 on Sunday. Residents in a neighbouring four-storey tenement had to be evacuated during the incident, with a number of them put up in emergency accommodation.

Police Investigate Suspicious Fire At Former Nightclub
Police have arrested three people in connection with a suspicious fire at a former nightclub in Warrington. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) responded to reports of a fire at the former Mr Smith's on Wilson Patten Street at around 2am on Tuesday.

100 Firefighters Tackle Recycling Centre Blaze
Up to 100 firefighters were needed to fight a major blaze at a recycling centre in Preston. Lancashire Fire and Rescue were called to the fire at about 21:30 on Thursday night, and 15 engines attended the scene at the height of the blaze. The fire caused major damage to the Recycling Lives centre on the Redscar estate in Longridge Road, Preston.
