Prison Officer Injured In Riot
A prison officer required hospital treatment after some 60 prisoners rioted at HMP Stocken.
According to reports, trouble began at the prison in Rutland at about 17:30 on Sunday. It is understood that specially trained officers were deployed at around 23:00, with order being restored in the early hours of Monday morning.
Thirty prisoners were immediately transferred to other high-security jails. The remaining 90 inmates are due to be moved later.
Missing Child Found In Father's Van
A major search operation has ended following the discovery of a five-year-old boy in the back of his father's van.
The child went missing from outside his home in Lerwick.
It is understood that the child had climbed into the back of the van, unbeknownst to his father, who later closed and locked the door.
Man Hit By Bus In Spot Where Two Others Previously Died
A man is being treated in hospital after being hit by a bus in Swansea, in the same spot where two other people previously died.
The incident happened at about 13:00 today, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The man was hit by the bus on The Kingsway, close to where police officer Sgt Louise Lucas, 41, and Daniel Foss, 37, died in separate incidents involving buses.

Prison officers suspended over corruption claims
Fourteen prison officers have been suspended from HMP Pentonville following allegations of corruption. A spokesperson for the Prison Service confirmed that the prison officers had been suspended over allegations which concerned trafficking and "inappropriate relations" with prisoners.

Prisons face overcrowding crisis
Prisons in England and Wales are under "enormous pressure" and are facing a "looming overcrowding crisis", according to a charity report. The Prison Reform Trust reported that prison numbers have crept up again since Christmas rising to over 77,000 again.

Police Van Death Probe
An investigation has launched into the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a marked police van. Kenneth Thiel-Furber, 26, of Whitchurch died in the early hours of Saturday. He was hit by a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A41 by the Wrexham Road roundabout. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
