Gas Explosion Exposes Cannabis Factory

An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a suspected cannabis factory in Kent.

It is understood that the factory was discovered following a suspected gas explosion at a residents on Oak Tree Road at about 16:00 on Monday.

Police said that currently it is not believed the cannabis factory contributed to the fire, but was discovered when the explosion damaged the roof of a flat containing the plants.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital and four others were treated by paramedics following the fire.

The Health and Safety Executive has also started an inquiry into the explosion at the council-owned homes.

Cannabis Factory Uncovered In Cardiff Hospital
Police in Cardiff searching for a missing person have uncovered a cannabis farm in a disused ward of a psychiatric hospital. It is understood that around 30 cannabis plants were uncovered by officers during a search at Whitchurch Hospital in Cardiff. News of the cannabis farm was revealed in a report by the BBC.

Body Found Following Explosion in Co Durham
A body of a man has been recovered from a house in Darlington, Co Durham, following an explosion. It is understood that fire crews were called after a suspected explosion caused a fire at a property on Lewes Road at about 02:50 on Friday morning. The body was found by firefighters after they entered the building.

Man killed in factory gas explosion
A man has been killed and three others injured, following an explosion at an aerosols factory in Liverpool. According to reports, there was a huge blast at North West Aerosols on Brookfield Drive in Aintree this morning, which caused a fire. A series of smaller explosions, involving aerosol cans, followed.

A cannabis factory estimated to be worth more than £500,000 has been shut down in north east Leeds. Police discovered the cannabis factory in a terraced property on Bellbrooke Grove, Harehills following information from local residents.

Iraq bombs leave more than 150 dead
More than 150 people have been killed in a series of bomb blasts in Iraq. In the deadliest attack, at least 115 people were killed when a car bomb exploded in a market in Sadriyah. An hour before that blast, at least 30 people were killed in what is believed to have been an attack by a suicide bomber in a car at a police checkpoint in Sadr City.
