Additional Charges Brought Against Becky Watts Murder Accused

A number of additional charges have been brought against those accused of the murder of Becky Watts.

Becky was murdered in Bristol in February this year.

Six people have been charged in connection with her murder, but police have reported that new evidence has been established by ongoing specialist forensic examinations.

These additional charges are as follows:

• Shauna Hoare has been charged with the murder of Becky Watts (jointly with Nathan Matthews) 

• Nathan Matthews has been charged with perverting the course of justice (jointly with Shauna Hoare)

• Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare have been charged with conspiracy to commit false imprisonment

• Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare have been charged with preventing Becky's lawful burial

• Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon

• Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare have been charged with four counts of making indecent images of children(please note this does not relate to Becky Watts) 

• Nathan Matthews has been charged with sexual assault (please note this does not relate to Becky Watts) 

• Nathan Matthews has been charged with voyeurism (please note this does not relate to Becky Watts) 

These new charges will be added to the indictment at the next court appearance, which is a plea and case management hearing at Bristol Crown Court on 04 August.

There are no changes to the charges against Karl Demetrius, Donovan Demetrius, Jaydene Parsons and James Ireland who are all charged with assisting an offender. 

Detective Superintendent Liz Tunks said: "Our continuing investigative work in this case demonstrates our determination to explore all avenues even after suspects have been charged. This has been a meticulous and exhaustive investigation. 

"We are determined to find answers for Becky’s family and bring all those who played a part in her death to justice."

Buried Body Suspect Attacked In Prison
The man accused of the murder of teenager Vicky Hamilton has been attacked in prison by an inmate. Peter Tobin, 61, who is being held at Saughton jail in Edinburgh, was due in court on Thursday to face charges relating to the murder of the 15-year-old Scottish schoolgirl.

Prisoner Makes Court Appearance Over Kent Body
A man has appeared in court to face charges related to the death of 15-year-old Vicky Hamilton, whose remains were found in the garden of a house in Kent. Peter Tobin, 61, who is currently in custody, appeared before Linlithgow Sheriff Court on Thursday. He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear in court next week.
