Five Arrested Over Cash And Drug Seizure In Merseyside

Five people have been arrested following the recovery of cash and drugs in Melling, Merseyside, on Tuesday.

Merseyside Police stopped and searched a vehicle at about 9:30am on 7 July, uncovering a "significant amount" of drugs.

Four people travelling in the car where arrest at the scene.

Officers then searched two properties on Liddell Avenue, together with a further two vehicles, recovering a large quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs and a significant quantity of cash.

A third property in Rainbow Drive, Melling, was also searched with further quantities of drugs and cash seized.

"This is just one example of how we are tackling serious and organised crime, on a daily basis across the force area. We are relentless in our pursuit and will act on any information we receive in relation to criminality, and as we have today, take action."

Detectives would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Matrix Serious and Organised Crime team on 0800 230 0600.
