Police Hurt After Man Throws 'Large Knives' At Officers

Two police officers needed hospital treatment after a man threw knives at them on a residential street in north London.

It is understood that the two PCs were responding to reports of a disturbance on Kingsdown Road at about 18:00 on Thursday.

According to reports, when the officers arrived a man began throwing a number of large knives. One officer suffered a head injury and the other sustained injuries to his face and body.

The officers managed to arrest the man before seeking medical help.

The man is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

£150k Fife Heroin Haul
Heroin valued at over £150,000 has been seized in Fife as part of an intelligence led operation by police. Raids undertaken by Fife Constabulary's Force Drugs Squad during the Easter weekend resulted in significant quantities of the Class A drug being recovered. Two people have also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Man Held Over Newport Shooting
Police in Newport have arrested a 50-year-old man over the shooting of a boy. The 15-year-old sustained a gunshot wound in the incident yesterday. Gwent Police were called to the Somerton area shortly before 4.30pm. The boy, who was alone in the house, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with a head injury, police said.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.
