RMT Called For 'Urgent' Meeting With ORR

Tube union RMT has been called for an emergency meeting with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

ACAS talks aimed at settling the dispute overnight running on London underground have been put on hold after the union was called for an 'urgent' meeting with the safety regulator.

RMT stated managers without a Safety Critical License had been allowed to direct Tubes out of the depot and on to the tracks at Upminster and Stonebridge Park over the past week.

The union said the breaches in safety protocols are directly linked to the RMT overtime ban.

Other related issues are also being reported to the union from local reps.

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said: "RMT has received a number of reports from local reps of the most flagrant breaches of safety protocols on London Underground over the weekend which are directly related to a management drive to keep services running in light of the overtime ban, regardless of the impact on passenger and staff safety."

RMT stated it is compiling 'a full dossier' of similar safety breaches.
