Cilla Black Dies Aged 72
Singer and TV presenter Cilla Black has died aged 72.
According to reports the veteran entertainer died on Saturday at her home in Spain.
It is believed that she died of natural causes. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.
A book of condolence has been opened at Liverpool Town Hall.
Man Dies During RideLondon Bike Event
A 55-year-old man has died from a suspected heart attack during Sunday's Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.
According to reports the man collapsed on the ascent of Leith Hill, Surrey's highest point.
A paramedic and doctor are said to have immediately attended to the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Body Found On Bardsea Beach
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body on the beach at Bardsea, Ulverston.
It is understood that a member of the public found the body at about 09:15 on Sunday morning.
Police said that formal identification has not yet taken place, however the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Man's Body Found On Brighton Beach
A man's body has been found on Brighton beach. It is understood the discovery was made by a member of the public at around 9.25am on Sunday. A section of the beach was cordoned off to allow emergency services to attend the scene and recover the body. Police have said it is too early to establish how the man died, or if his death is suspicious.

Police have confirmed that the body found in the Firth of Forth on Sunday is that of missing man Charles McLachlan. Mr McLachlan, 39, went missing from his home in West Lothian on June 10.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

UK Troops Get Boost To Personal Protection
British troops fighting in the frontline are to receive new body armour and helmets this autumn, it has been announced. Over 10,000 sets of the enhanced Mark 7 helmet and the Osprey Assault body armour have been ordered from companies across the UK, under initial contracts worth around £16 million.

Section Of M1 Closed Following Fatal Collision
A section of the northbound carriageway of the M1 between junction 16 and 17 is closed following a fatal road traffic accident. A man died after his car collided with a lorry in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to police. No other details of the victim have been released.
